Treatments Explained

Botulinum Toxin is a prescription drug used to temporarily block the signals between nerve endings and muscle fibres. This prevents the formation of dynamic wrinkles in the skin and can soften lines and wrinkles that are already established at rest. Both Botox by Allergan and Bocouture produced by Merz are used in clinic.

Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers are composed of a sterile polysaccharide gel which can be injected in to the tissues to replace volume and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The majority of fillers I use in clinic are manufactured by Teoxane and also contain Lidocaine (a local anaesthetic) to improve comfort. A topical local anaesthetic can also be used which I encourage especially for the lips and peri-oral area. Further product information can be found by visiting About Hyaluronic Acid (teoxane.com) or during your consultation.

PROFHILO® is an injectable form of Hyaluronic Acid but differs in its chemical structure and nature to that of dermal fillers. Containing one of the highest quantities of Hyaluronic Acid available (64mg/2ml)  PROFHILO® is a low viscosity injectable that  stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and thus improves skin quality.  This makes it a particularly effective treatment for those with a degree of skin laxity. PROFHILO® can essentially be used anywhere on the body where poor skin quality is an issue, for example, the face, neck, décolleté, underneath the upper arms and the backs of hands. A typical treatment for the face or the neck involves ten superficial injections. Topical local anaesthetic can be used but most patient's don't find this necessary.

Medical Microneedling is also an effective treatment for improving collagen and elastin production but is also used to treat hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, scarring, for example, acnes scars and stretch marks plus can be an effective treatment for thinning hair. The Raffine CE marked and UKCA registered device is used in clinic. The treatment involves delivering micro injuries to the skin thus stimulating the natural healing process. A sterile medical grade serum is used during the treatment which can be targeted towards you specific concern. Post treatment a sterile, soothing mask is applied. Topical local anaesthetic may be used however the procedure is relatively painless.

Fillmed Beautif-EYE and Bio-Nutri-neck. This treatment primarily targets the undereye area to treat concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles and discolouration. A peel (Bright Peel) which is specifically formulated for this area is applied prior to the administration of NCTF® 135HA (New Cellular Treatment Factor). NCTF® 135HA is a unique revitalising solution that provides the dermis with 59 essential ingredients including Hyaluronic Acid. The delivery of this product is via the unique Nanosoft needle and is well tolerated by patients. Following the treatment a soothing eye mask is applied as part of the Fillmed Protocol.
